In case you've come to my blog and got a little freaked out... Yes, a lot has changed!!! The cutesy, pastel-colored, girly-girl pallet is GONE. I decided to do something TOTALLY different.
Like the earth picture? I thought it was pretty awesome... So, I decided to temporarily and un-officially name my Blog:
Outta This World! :)
At least, until I find an even awesomer background.
I'm still not sure if I like the new look yet, but it'll do for now. At least change is just a few clicks away!!!
(Silvia... I might be calling you soon for a new Blog Makeover! ;))
Update... DEBUT author, T. G. Ayer of DEAD RADIANCE will be dropping in for a visit on MARCH 9th... Yes, right here!!! So mark it! It's gonna be awesome!!! ;)
Until then... have an Outta This World kinda day! haha
(I know... that was pretty lame!)
It's been a BUSY, BUSY week, with LOTS going on! I did a 2 day "free" promotional for In My Dreams on the 14th and 15th... and BOY, did it do well... Much better than I'd expected! There were almost 1,500 downloads in those 2 days! I'd say that was a successful promotion. :) During those days, it was ranked #1 and #2 in Children's eBooks > Spine Chilling Horror, and Teens > Horror. I don't know how it got tagged with horror tags, but I'll take it! :) (Some people did say that there were some scary parts.)
Next... I've been MAJORLY debating weather to Self-Publish my next trilogy. I really don't want to seem like I'm a "one-book" author, and people have been asking me when the next one's coming out. If it gets picked up, it probably won't be getting out until sometime next year. So... I'm heavily contemplating self-publishing again. hmmmmmmm? Any comments on that... PLEASE leave them below. :)
Speaking of promoting... If you want to meet some of the voices-in-my-head, head over to Rainy Day Ramblings for a multi-character interview and Giveaway... and you can check out a Guest Post I did for Keeping Up with the Rheinlander's on the changing of the cover.
Until I figure out what I'm going to do with my next project, I'll keep writing, and I'll let you know as soon as I make a decision!!! :) Hope you're having a great day!!!
Whoa!!! So last night I had a dream, and it was about the new novel I'm writing, and I must say...it totally threw me off. I started off with a pretty awesome plot and outline, which I was following pretty well, and then... WHAM! A TWISTER!
This colorful, detailed dream, full of drama and suspense, just threw it all off! And then enters a whole new character who's demanding to play a major roll, which literally threw a kink in my well oiled and spinning writing wheel.
So... the question is... what do I do?
I've never really been a stickler for outlines. I like to fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants, and be free to write whatever's on (or in) my mind. In My Dreams was written without a plot or outline, and it's doing pretty darn awesome!!! Sorry... had to give a shameless plug... :)
So... over the next few days, I'm going to mull over all the NEW details I've been given and iron out the new plot. Then I'll be rewriting a very big and important part of my story. So wish me luck!!! It should be a great twist! ;) (There are many great stories out there that had twisters!!!)
Well, it's Tuesday... time to post on my blog! :) So what have I been up to lately?Aside from staying inside (because of the constant BELOW ZERO weather), I've been surviving the Alaskan frontier. YAY! It's so totally opposite of Hawaii... which is a nice break. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE Maui, but with the constant VOG (volcanic smoke), and the one, non-changing season, I got bored. I needed change. I need an adventure, and what better place to find that than - Alaska! hahaha
It helps that my parents and siblings all live here too. :)
So, I've been very busy, busy, busy, trying to finish my next novel. This place gives me great inspiration. I look out the window one day to a gray sky and snow falling. The next is a beautful, blue-sky, sunshiny day, with the snow glistening like glitter. Beautiful... but COLD! Tonite we're supposed to see the Aurora Borealis! I hope, I hope, I hope!
So far I've learned how to make a fire, collect wood, use a snow-blower, and a snow shovel, and make sure I've had enough layers on before I head out into the negative weather. When a writer uses the words - the cold air bit (or nipped) at my skin... that's what it feels like. Someone literally biting my skin off, in BIG frozen chunks! :) I've been so cold that when I breathe in, my nose hairs freeze. Yes, I said nose hairs! I know. It's gross, but it's the craziest, most awkward feeling!
So I'm on a mission! I'm going to finish Book 2 in my new trilogy, and start Book 3 by the end of next month (February). At least it's a goal, and I desperately need a goal to stay motivated. It also helps when I write my goals on this blog, so other people can read it and make me accountable! ;)
Well... until next time my awesome friends and followers!
Since our move from Hawaii to Alaska on December 15th, I'm only now getting back to my old self. The - trying to get settled, spending the holiday season with the family, and not to mention...the constant negative degree weather has taken it's toll. It's been below zero for weeks now!!!! UGH!!! This morning it was -25 degrees! Yep... and because of that... we all got the dreaded cold. :(
But now that I'm feeling better... time to get back on track!
My brain has slowly defrosted and is ready to get back to writing! I can't wait to find out what happens next in the new novels I'm writing! I'm so excited! Well... back to my other world... the world inside my mind. It's such a cool place to be! :) I'll share it with you very soon! I promise! :D
