#NewRelease - The Reaping Season by @AprylBaker

Author: Apryl Baker
Genre: YA PNR/Horror
Publisher: Limitless Publishing, LLC
Cover Designer: Deranged Doctor Design
Publication Date: Nov. 30th, 2021
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR

Blurb:
There is a fear of the dark that lives deep inside us all.
It’s embedded into our primal instincts, and no matter how old we get, it never goes away. We can lie to ourselves, but we can’t lie to what waits for us in the night.

The townspeople of Jacob’s Fork, West Virginia know this all too well. Deep in the mountains there is a secret shrouded in the shadows, one that is whispered about to frighten and protected for reasons too unspeakable to bear the light of day.

A secret that emerges once every thirty years.

It’s called The Reaping Season.

Jacob’s Fork becomes a ghost town after sunset. Shops close, school functions are canceled, and you sit inside your home, praying it doesn’t know where you are and come for you.

And now, Ella Grace has landed herself smack in the middle of it all.

Will she learn the truth, or will The Reaping Season claim her instead?

So who am I?

Well, I’m the crazy girl with an imagination that never shuts up. I LOVE scary movies. My friends laugh at me when I scare myself watching them and tell me to stop watching them, but who doesn’t love to get scared? I grew up in a small town nestled in the southern mountains of West Virginia where I spent days roaming around in the woods, climbing trees, and causing general mayhem. Nights I would stay up reading Nancy Drew by flashlight under the covers until my parents yelled at me to go to sleep.

Now, I live in a small town in West Virginia where I entertain my niece and nephew and watch the cats get teased by the birds and laugh myself silly when they swoop down and then dive back up just out of reach. The cats start yelling something fierce…lol.

I love books, I love writing books, and I love entertaining people with my silly stories.

That’s the question I have to ask myself after the death of my father. Plagued with night terrors and lack of sleep, I keep blacking out and finding myself in strange places. Reed has memories of me that I don’t have, and the question remains, am I going crazy?

Accused of murder, I make a deal with the shadiest supernatural in all of the supe district. And while this deal might keep me from behind bars, it has me chained to an open debt that one day he’ll come to collect.

After another human murder, the humans are pushing for the Registration Act even more with the support of Humans United and it’s looking bleak for supernaturals. The Senate is going to vote and it’s now just a countdown for when they’ll be coming for us.

Can we keep our freedom from the humans? Am I really going crazy? Or will our house of cards finally come crashing down?

She writes phoenixes – gloriously flawed and morally gray characters that fiercely rise from the ashes of their circumstances. World building is one of her favorite hobbies, along with stamping metal jewelry, swimming, and enjoying the beauty of nature. She thinks thunderstorms are better than coffee and that watching a meteor shower is the closest thing to magic you might ever see. She’s a firm believer that every amazing book needs a world you want to wrap yourself in, a character you want to win, and a love you would fight for.

Casey is the award-winning author of When Wishes Bleed, Gravebriar, and House of Eclipses.
