I'm Back!

Well, well, well... We did it! Phew! We finally made the BIG move, going from hot sunshine to cold snow in a matter of a 6 hour flight! Yep... Hawaii to Alaska - a HUGE change, and boy did we have a WHITE Christmas!!! It's been a great 2 weeks of fun with the Alaskan family... BUT now I need to get my head back into gear! I have people (characters) waiting to have their stories told. Yep, and they keep hounding me, even in my sleep! ("Come on, Cameo!!! We're waiting!!!") haha Sooooo- It's back to business. I shouldn't say business because it's more like FUN! So yeah... it's almost 9am and pitch black outside, but they say that we are supposed to be gaining daylight everyday. Hmmmm?

OH! ...and DID I MENTION:
IN MY DREAMS is back on tour!!! Yep, and with two of the most AWESOME people on the planet! :)

Well... 10 days and counting before our BIG move, so I won't be able to post for a while... or at least until I can get set up again.

Ugh!

Yep. The title of this post should explain a lot. NaNoWriMo + Packing/Moving (in less than 30 days) + finishing edits to my next book + motherly/wifely duties = UGH! 

So, I've decided to take one day for each thing, except the packing. I'm going to have to continue to do that daily. If you haven't heard... we are moving from Hawaii to Alaska this December. YES! I know! You think we've gone.... 

...especially making the move in the dead of winter. Yep... that's us! The crazies... full of fun and adventure. :D

So, I just wanted to post something since it's been like... forever. Sorry! I will TRY to keep you updated on everything going on, and once we're settled, I will be posting regularly.

So far.... so good! :)

Just wanted to give an update... In case anyone drops by to read this. HE-LL-OOOO! *Echoes crescendo through my blog...* HELLO-Hello-hello...

 

So yeah... I survived DAY #3 of NaNoWriMo!!! Whoo-hoo!  So far I've written 6,858 words. Pretty darn good, huh! Yep... I rewarded myself with a Twix and a Kit Kat after I updated my word count stats.

 

Wow...I just might have another novel at the end of this. So far... I'm really liking the direction my brand-new story is going.

 

Hint: It's a Children's Fantasy. Very cool. I've always wanted to write one, as my favorite book growing up was C.S. Lewis' - The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I loved crawling into the wardrobe with Lucy and Edmund and entering the wonderful world of Narnia.

 

So... anyway... that's what's going on. If you don't hear from me on the social network... you know where I'll be. Sitting right here in front of my 29" computer monitor, getting a nice EMF tan. :)

OMG! It's NaNoWriMo time!

Well... I did it. I signed up to take part in NaNoWriMo this year, and it starts today! EEK! I must say... I haven't felt this freaked out in a while. What was I thinking???

In case you're wondering what this is - it's National Novel Writing Month. Participants begin writing on November 1st, and the goal is to write a 50,000 word novel (approx. 175 pages) by 11:59:59, November 30th. 

I will have to write 1666 words per day. Wow. But they say it is totally about Quantity - NOT Quality. Thank God! Writing on the fly? Lowering my expectations and taking risks? hmmm. That's a totally new approach for me. At least I'll have a Crap~tastic new novel in the end that will need loads and loads of editing! :) YAY! And maybe even come out with a winner's certificate and a web-badge! I could definitely use that! ;)

So wish me luck! I will be madly writing for the next month, feeding on my Halloween candy stash and tanking down loads - and loads - of coffee! If you see me out there looking like zombie lady... just toss me some chocolate and back away slowly. I should be fine come December 1st. :)
