Here is the GORGEOUS cover for K. Anne Raines new novel
FALLEN FROM GRACE:

Click on cover for larger view. :)

Synopsis:
Seventeen year-old Grace grows up knowing she’s different, but she always attributed it to a mother who didn’t want her, a father who abandoned her, and a curse that sets her apart. Despite those struggles, her grandfather remained her rock and confidant. Her life irrevocably shatters the day her grandfather dies.

The day of his funeral sets off a chain of events, making Grace question everything she’s ever known to be true, and as a result, who she can truly trust. She inherits his house, part of his money, his Guardian and something that ties them together.

Just before Grace’s 18th birthday, she is thrust into a world she couldn’t fathom existed and does everything she can to thwart the destiny suddenly forced upon her. She’s been chosen for greatness, but at what cost? With eyes now open, she must choose to either be Chosen, or watch those around her suffer the consequences.

Torn between the man who’s come to protect her and the one sent to destroy her, she teeters on the edge of decision, trying to come to grips with who she is, what she wants and what all of that means for her, those she loves and the rest of mankind.
Congratulations K. Anne Raines!!! This novel sounds amazing, and I'm definitely adding it to my list!!!

Author Interview & Giveaway with Sinead MacDughlas

Today I have the wonderful pleasure of having Author Sinead MacDughlas on my blog!!!
She is a wonderful author and also my publishing sister!!!

Sinead MacDughlas is a Canadian writer whose main addictions are words, music and coffee. A recovered high school drop-out, Sinead has spent much of her adult life moving around the province of Ontario and working at various jobs, including: taxi driver, advertising graphic designer, library clerk, short order cook, industrial cleaner and retail product consultant for a chain of beauty salons. In November of 2011, she finally achieved a lifelong dream of being a published author.

So now... I get to ask Sinead a few questions. :)

When did you first start writing?
When I was around eight years old I started writing fiction.

What books do you have published
I'm blessed to have three books out now. The Unscheduled Stops is a self-published short story collection, Learn To Love me is a mystery/suspense novel, published by Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing. Best Served Bloody is a Halloween novelette, published by Vamptasy Publishing to raise funds for the East Lancashire Hospice. All proceeds from the novelette go straight to the hospice!

I also have contributions in three charity anthologies.

You can find my banana bread recipe in the "Come Dine With Us" cookbook
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007YVAJMW/
with 50% of the proceeds going to Unicef

The "Alquid Anthology - 2012 Vol. 1" features my short story Parting Burden

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A1ETNQC/
with proceeds to the Go Green effort

The third is still 'to be announced', but I'll shout it to the world the moment I'm allowed.
Oh, wow! You've been busy! :) I have Learn to Love Me in my Kindle. I am looking forward to reading it!

What do you need when writing? Music, candy, silence, etc.
I can write down ideas anytime, but to get any serious writing done I need a certain set of conditions.  A tidy room is the best start. If the room messy I can't focus. I need to have a fresh coffee close at hand, a snack of some sort, my mp3 player and everyone in the house sleeping. Until my husband goes to bed, he has the television on and it's too distracting. I'll listen to a song or two to set the mood for a scene but then I write in complete silence. Once a scene is done, I'll reread it with the same music playing and make adjustments.  By the time I'm finished, I have an entire soundtrack that I use for the editing process. I must have music to edit my own work.
Your schedule is very similar to mine!!!

How did you go about building your world and characters?
My characters seem to build themselves, mostly. They're often a mash-up of personality traits from people I know and people I've observed. I've always been a people-watcher. When I was younger I liked to make a game of watching people walk past in the park, and guessing who they were, what they were like and where they were going. As I got a little older, I'd take a notepad with me and capture some of those people in words. Now it's become almost second nature to create characters.
Worlds take a little more concerted effort. Although my published works to date are in real places and times, I have quite a few unpublished pieces that take place in created settings. My 'other' worlds are mostly the product of my tainted perspective of our world, magnified and expanded. I love creating new cultures, creatures, races, religions and languages. My problem is that I get so caught up in creating the worlds, I forget to write the story! Perhaps one of my fantasy or science/fantasy stories will make publication one day. For now I'll continue to write about the great blue ball we live on.

Do you have a favorite character? Why?
Every character is my favourite when I'm writing them. My overall favourite, right this moment, is Emily O'Shea, from Learn To Love Me.  I think it's because she's so badly flawed, and because I loaned her my twisted sense of wry humour. I'd like to believe it makes her easier to relate to, as opposed to the semi-perfect, brilliant, beautiful, 'everyone loves her' heroine. I mean, honestly, I hated that girl in high-school! Okay, I didn't hate her. I was envious of her and irritated by her seeming perfection, but I was not cheering her on in everything she did. I also like that Emily seldom does things, or learns things, the easy way. Most of all, I love her unique mixture of strength and weakness. She's complex and sometimes contradictory, like most people.
I think I will be bumping this book up on my list! :)

Are you working on any new projects?
I am! I'm working on a follow-up to Learn To Love Me where Emily and Alex are featured again. This story takes place in British Columbia, Canada in 2012. The reader will also learn more about Zander. I'm having a lot of fun with this piece. At this point I'm not sure whether it will be a novelette, a novella or a full novel. I can tell you that this story is going to veer off into the supernatural before the end.
The second I'm finished that I'll begin the next novel, set in 2025-2030. It will definitely be a supernatural story, and Zander will feature in that one as well. Emily and Alex will make their appearance there too, but the main character is new.
That sounds amazing! Can't wait!

    Any advice for aspiring authors?
Tons, but I'll keep it to the single most important point. NEVER - STOP - WRITING.
Great advice!

What are you hoping fans will take away from your books?
I hope that when they've finished my books they'll have a sense of being enlightened. Perhaps I'll have given them a new perspective on something, or they'll have learned something about themselves. I hope that they'll feel a little less isolated from others, like someone out there understands them. Of course, the main purpose is entertainment, but if I can give more than that I'd be honoured.

Fun stuff:

Best Movie ever watched: Ever? Tough question! The best and my favourite aren't quite the same thing.  I'll say … umm … Twelve Monkeys. Ask me in an hour and I'll give a different answer, though.
Ahhhhh ~ Brad Pitt

Worst Movie ever watched: Beerfest
I've never seen that one, and thanks...I never will!

Favorite drink: Non-alcoholic ? Coffee.  Alcoholic? I can't tell you the name of it in polite company. It's a cocktail made of Blue Curacao, vodka and cranberry juice. Asking a bartender for one can be an adventure in itself. I used to get my date to order them, so I wouldn't have to.
*Ahhhhh ~ Yes...Coffee is my favorite magical drink. And I DO know what other beverage this is...but my blog is PG so I'll keep that to myself. :) haha

Food you won’t eat: Beef tongue. *gag*
Ewwww~ Yep, not a food that I'd eat either. *double-gag*

This or That: (Which do you prefer)
Day or night? I'm a complete night owl, which is a lot more difficult with children than you'd think.

Coffee or Tea? I bleed words, but I cry coffee.

Ocean or Pool? Pool to swim in. The ocean to look at.

Beef or Chicken? Chicken
Yes, Mr. Chicken...she was talking about you!!!

Vampires , Werewolves or Zombies? Werewolves all the way!
YEP! Nothing like a hot, muscular Alpha Male. hehe

THANK YOU SINEAD!!! It was such a pleasure having you!!! You rock and I can't wait to read your books!!!

Throughout history, myths and legends of extraordinary creatures have been told and retold. Fantastic tales of demons and banshees, gryphons and dragons, and of course, magic. Stories that every child grows to learn are nothing more than fantasy…or are they?

Beyond the world you see lies a hidden realm, the Mythrian Realm, inhabited by all of the creatures you’ve been told are mere fiction. Only one thing lies between humans and the truth: the Nexus. A magical barrier erected millennia ago to separate the two realms, it has stood the test of time. Until now.

For Mythrian Sha Phoenix, magic is nothing new. But when she stumbles upon a portal on the verge of collapse, her fate will forever change. Pulled through the portal into the Human Realm, she lands in the middle of Detective Connor Flynn’s brutal murder scene. Touching Eternity by Airicka Phoenix ~ Blog Tour & Interview

Today I have the pleasure of having the wonderful, amazing,
Airicka Phoenix
on my blog!!! Whoop-whoop!!!

Her new novel ~ Touching Eternity will be releasing DECEMBER 20, 2012!!!
Here's more about it...

Airicka Phoenix is the author of TOUCHING SMOKE (Touch Book #1), TOUCHING ETERNITY (Touch 1.5), TORRID, a short story as part of the Whispered Beginnings: A Clever Fiction Anthology and WANTING & INTENTIONS, two stories as part of the Midnight Surrender Anthology. When she's not hammering away at the keyboard, she can be found banishing pirates or crawling through the attic looking for lost treasure with her kids. She loves baking, gardening and reading. She also likes to travel and take pictures of everything she comes across. When asked, Airicka describes herself as a sarcastic basket case that has an unhealthy addiction to chocolate, old movies and really bad jokes. She loves to laugh, make friends and write. If she could have one wish granted, it would be to spend one day as a fly-on-the-wall inside Stephen King's mind. If she could have two wishes granted, she would ask for a castle dedicated entirely to her overwhelming collection of books.

What would you choose?
She had everything but freedom.
He had nothing but his loyalty, his wits and his training.
She was a prisoner, a disease, not fit for the world, and she didn't know why. But she did know she wasn't allowed to die, she wasn't allowed to live and she wasn’t sane.
He was a soldier, a protector, but his foundation will be tested when he must destroy the only light in his dark world.
Thrown together, prisoner and keeper, their rebellion will splinter through time, changing the course of history and the fate of the world. Their love will challenge their greatest enemy and immortalize them forever.
Loyalty. Freedom. Love.
What would you risk?
"Let me die."
Pain darkened his eyes. "Never."

 TRAILER

And now...Airicka answers some of my questions... Muahahaha

When did you first start writing?
I was in third grade. The teacher asked us to write a story with pictures and words. I rewrote Beauty and the Beast.
I was in the third grade too! Third grade teachers rock!

What books do you have published?
At this time, I have Touching Smoke, plus 3 short stories in 2 anthologies. One is called Whispered Beginnings. The other is Midnight Surrender Anthology. Touching Eternity will be my second full length novel.
Touching Smoke is safely tucked in my Kindle. I can't wait to read it...and then I won't have to wait for Touching Eternity! YAY!

What do you need when writing? Music, candy, silence, etc.
Music. Hot chocolate.  Two very important things.

Do you have a favorite character? Why?
I don’t. I don’t believe in picking favorites with my characters. They’re like my children. Picking between them just seems wrong.  lol
 Fine! I guess you're right...*sigh*

Are you working on any new projects?
I am! I’m actually releasing two stories next year. One is called The Wrong Kind of Love and will be released for Valentine’s Day. It’s a fun contemporary novel I wrote for an English project in Gr. 8. The second is my Hunter Series, which is action packed and filled with suspense and heart melting romance.

         Any advice for aspiring authors?
When you listen to people who say you can’t, you’re only doing them a favor. But don’t do it to prove them wrong, do it to prove yourself right.
Good advice!

What are you hoping fans will take away from this book?
I’m hoping a better understanding of human nature. Our need to grow, expand and meddle, yet at the same time we try so hard to avoid the nitty gritty, the undesirable things that turn our stomachs that we miss the warning signs until it’s too late.

Fun stuff:

Worst Movie ever watched:
Human Centipede. OMG. A friend of mine made me watch it… ugh… *shudder*

OMG ~ Yep, that totally looks...lame! hahaha I don't think I would waste precious seconds of my life to watch that.
Food you won’t eat:
Anything red! I hate red things in my food!

Really? Like lobster, or strawberries, or red velvet cake? Girl... I love red! Now, black or gray...like moldy gray... That would be another story... Ewwwww :p
This or That: (Which do you prefer)
Day or night? Night!
Coffee or Tea? Tea.
Ocean or Pool? Ocean.
Chicken or Fish? Chicken.
Vampires or Werewolves? Vampires… werewolves… both?? lol
You're supposed to only pick only one, Airicka, but since it's you...I'll let you pass. *sigh* :)

Thank you so much, Cameo for having me visit your blog. I had so much fun answering your questions and chatting with you and your readers. I hope we can do it again! <3

Thank you, Airicka! I always have a blast when you're around!
